It's not uncommon for a teen mom to say that her child saved her life. Often, a new baby sparks the realization that she wants better for her child than she's' been managing for herself.
Hope House of Colorado is just the place for such a family. Founded by a former teen mom, Lisa Steven, to provide a safe home for young moms who need a little guidance and a lot of love. Hope House provides homes for six young mothers and their children in a residential facility, as well as resources for 140 young mothers each year. Those resources include preparation for earning their GEDs, parenting and relationship classes as well as career training.
This spring, Hope House will break ground on a new Resource Center, to be built next door to the residential home and will replace the facility they are currently renting. At nearly 5000 square feet, it's nearly fives times larger and will provide more space for life skills training and child care.
