This week on Driving Force Radio, we are treating you to an archived program featuring former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter. Ritter is in the news lately as a possible appointee for the United States Energy Secretary under the Obama Administration. Since this will be a very important position in the coming years, we at ICOSA want to provide as much information as possible about energy developments and concerns.
This is the time to move forward on renewable energy practices. Convert power plants to clean energy, and employ ways to reduce emissions. Build the infrastructure needed to launch natural gas and electric vehicles for the average consumer.
Governor Ritter says, " Americans actually really do believe in clean energy, in a big way. There is poll after poll after poll that demonstrates that, and yet we have some kind of political disconnect because our policy makers have trouble getting to the place that the American people already are."
The United States has developed all the technologies to solve climate change - we just need to employ them. We need an Energy Secretary who is willing to cut through the bureaucracy, and work with industry leaders as well as government officials to seriously begin using the renewable technologies we have.
For these reasons and more, we feel this program should be heard again, as a refresher on energy issues, policy and to allow our listeners to be reacquainted with Governor Ritter's positions on energy. No matter who is appointed, the issues discussed in this program are paramount.
