Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams invites business leaders and all citizens to join the GoCode Colorado Challenge.
On Wednesday, March 8, 2017 Secretary Williams, the Colorado Technology Association and Colorado Business Roundtable hosted a discussion on GoCode at the CAP Logistics headquarters in Denver.
GoCode Colorado has been nationally recognized for innovation and public engagement. Entering its fourth year, the app challenge takes a different approach being open-ended versus directed.
Any business leader or resident can share an idea via Ideabuzz.com. There will be five regional competitions with two submissions from each advancing to the finals.
"Data drives decision making. Just having data isn’t enough -- we need to make it accessible and useful for our state. GoCode provides an opportunity for teams to use public data to solve real world problems," said Secretary Williams. "We are starting to see some positive benefits from our earlier competitions so we know it works. Government functions in a very outdated, risk averse manner. If you are wrong 30 times and get it right one time, you can be a millionaire. In government, you can be right 30 times and wrong one time and you can be fired. Our goal with GoCode is to provide a platform to use data for the betterment of our residents and business community."
The GoCode Colorado Challenge gives Coloradans the opportunity to take a risk. In this competition, there is no right or wrong, just the stimulation of ideas and innovation. Pitch your idea today!
