Make-A-Wish Colorado works with many different businesses and organizations to grant wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions one of the many ways that they grant these wishes is by involving high school students to host a Wish Week for one of these kids with their Kids for Wish Kids program.
Lauren Beede, Associate Director of Philanthropy at Make-A-Wish Colorado, and Sarah Grosh, Kids for Wish Kids Manager bring us two guests who have participated in Wish Week for Kids for Wish Kids.
Maya Winslow, a sophomore at Mountain Vista High School is a record breaking fund raiser this year, she was a part of the leadership team that raised $93,000, and organized Wish Week for one of the Wish Kids. We'll also be talking with Lauren Huddleston, student council advisor at Overland High School, she has overseen Wish Week for the last five years, and has some very enthusiastic students who participate each year, and raise at least $7,500 each year, despite being a school with many low-income families.
