You may have heard of bitcoin, the digital currency that is created, held and transferred electronically. The cryptocurrency has grown in value, taken a dive, and is now the most stabilized it has been in six years of existence. But to anyone who hasn't keep abreast of how it's managed, spent and monetized, bitcoin is still a bit of a mystery.
Texas Congressman, Steve Stockman is keeping current on the currency - even proposing to fund his election campaign with bitcoin, which raises it's own questions of value and transparency. Stockman was also the first to introduce legislation for cyrptocurrency, to protect it from special interests that would affect the growth of digital currency.
Still others hope to establish regulation and set the rules of the game. With more certainty, the currency could gain widespread use.
Stockman joins us this week on Connect & Collaborate to help us understand bitcoin and the economic impact of digital currency.
Cassandra Sunell has become an ambassador for the state of Montana, and on a recent visit to Denver met with a number of chambers as well as Governor Hickenlooper and Mayor Michael Hancock both on behalf of her state and of Headframe Spirits.
Headframe Spirits combines Montana's mining history with a dedication to the legacy of the entrepreneurial spirit of mining widows who started distilling spirits to make a living. It's a unique history, taking it's name from the metal structure headframes that lowered the workers hundreds of feet into the earth. In 2010 John and Courtney McGee founded Headframe Spirits to celebrate Butte's history, sort of resurrecting the "spirits" of the past. Each spirit is named for a mine of Butte, Montana - Orphan Girl Bourbon Cream Liqueur, Neversweat Bourbon Whiskey and a variety of other vodkas and gins. Headframe Spirits' products are currently seeking licensing for distribution outside of Montana, and today Cassandra introduces the brand to our Connect & Collaborate listeners.
In our final segment we meet up with Nick Swett, Anna Bogler and Paige Damiano from intelligent design firm, Ambit. Together they describe how they tackle master planning, program strategy and project management all while keeping their clients and end-users in mind.
Join us for a fun, creative conversation.
