Colorado has very engaged voters, judging by voter turnout numbers for election day. Those same, massive numbers are underrepresented in primary elections however, because of our our state's unaffiliated voters.
Let Colorado Vote is dedicated to increase voter engagement by offering two ballot propositions this fall:
Ballot Proposition 108 - would open taxpayer-financed primary elections to Colorado's 1.3 million unaffiliated voters.
Ballot Proposition 107 - would restore Colorado's presidential primary election, last held in 2000.
By allowing unaffilated voters to cast their ballots in the primaries, our state would have greater participation in those primaries, which the voters pay for, and a better representation of what Colorado voters want.
We'll talk with John Hereford of Oakleaf Energy Partners, and Don Childears, President and CEO of the Colorado Banker's Association - both supporters of the Let Colorado Vote campaign.
