Today we have a bit different perspective on business and entrepreneurship, with a look at conceiving and developing a toy product and efforts to bring it to market.
Lee Middlekauff is a Denver-area father of twins. When he started building model planes and cars with his son, Lee felt his daughter was missing out. He searched in vain for model kits that might appeal to girls, until he decided to try to create one himself. That's how Pixi Kits was born. After consultations with a Emmy-Award winning animator, and building a prototype, Lee is working to bring this STEM inspired, robotics building toy to market.
We'll discuss his efforts on Kickstarter, the pitfalls and the advantages of bringing a product to market at a time when barriers to entry have shifted.
It should be a fun and informative conversation, especially if you've ever dreamed of making your invention a reality.
