On today’s show we are sharing a program from last year of which we are quite proud.
The program is an interview with Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey and then Title IX Coordinator at DU, Kathryne Grove about Rape Response on Campus with Title IX Work Groups.
This is an important conversation about a sensitive topic, and we're pleased to share that this program was honored by the Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards of Excellence for 2015.
The program on Rape Response on Campus was nominated, and ultimately a finalist for Best Public Affairs Program in a Metro Market. In the end, we earned a Certificate of Merit.
The Denver District Attorney’s office has established a collaborative effort between all of Denver’s university campuses, law enforcement, investigators, hospitals and other organizations. That collaboration is known as the Title IX Working Group, made up of agency stakeholders in sexual assault response, forming increased coordination regarding cooccurring Title IX and criminal investigations.
Indulge us in revisiting the conversation with Mitch Morrissey and Kathryne Grove on Rape Response on Campus. We would also like to thank Jean McAllister, the current Title IX Coordinator at DU who joined us for the award banquet and who continues the great work to help students on campus.
