Colorado Innovation Network (COIN) is the state's catalyst for innovation, launched by Governor John Hickenlooper in November of 2011. Recognizing the need to drive ideas in one of the most innovative states in the country.
Anna Ewing is the Executive Director of COIN, and one of our Connect & Collaborate sponsor - hosts. Today we'll discuss the Open Innovation Challenge, introduced along with Imagine Colorado, which is a call for ideas from everyone in the state to help solve obesity and health issues among Colorado's children.
It's the nation's first-ever statewide open innovation challenge, asking Colorado residents to answer the question: How would you connect Colorado's youth to a healthier lifestyle?
Anna is joined by Kelly Underell, COIN Deputy Director and project manager on the Innovation Challenge, and Shepard Nevel, President and CEO of Livewell Colorado.
Listen and learn the surprising fact that while Colorado still ranks as one of the healthiest states in the nation, the bar is lower than it was just fifteen years ago. Find out more about how to take part in the innovation challenge. Go to www.imagineco.us for entry details and information on $25,000 in prizes for the top ideas. The submission deadline is March 31, 2016.
