Boasberg was appointed as Superintendent in January 2009, and in his time there so far, the school district has seen record enrollment increases, beyond that of any other urban school district nation-wide - the four-year graduation rate has gone up twenty-percent - and has created of 60 new innovation and charter schools which allow educators more freedom in regulations, lesson plans and other decisions.
