Kelly Sloan, CEO of Sloan & Associates will join us to discuss two issues concerning aviation in Colorado.
We’ll discuss the privatization of Air Traffic Control Centers with Chris Swathwood of CABA (Colorado Aviation Business Association). The FAA is falling behind both in updated air traffic control systems, due to congressional budget battles and faces the loss of nearly a third of qualified controllers to retirement in coming years. Some suggest that privatizing the industry would solve their procurement problems, but there are greater concerns at stakes.
Later we'll talk about restrictions for Sea Planes landing in Colorado waters. The CSPPA has thus far been unable to convince Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to allow access for seaplanes. Some concerns include the introduction of aquatic nuisance species, which may travel on the planes, and infect local waters.
