On the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion, Getty Images photographer Peter Macdiarmid composited photos from 1944 into images taken now. At the Gaurdian online, there is an interactive feature with these photos and see the differences over 70 years.

The Huffpost describes his process: "He pinpointed the locations of 1944 photos and traveled around England and France to recapture the same angles and scenery today."
"As a photographer, it was really fascinating to stand in the footprints of people who recorded history," he (MacDairmid) told The WorldPost."
