Chief Executive Officers are becoming more optimistic about the prospects of economic growth, according to a survey released this week by the Business Roundtable. The CEO Economic Outlook Index increased to 84.5 from 79.1 in the previous quarter. This expected growth would be further bolstered by a successful budget deal in Washington.
"CEOs expect modest improvement in the outlook for economic expansion in the first half of 2014,'' Business Roundtable Chairman James McNerney said during a conference call. "The survey reflects slightly increased optimism despite an underperforming economy.''
