Food is one of the universal requirements for life. No matter who you are, you have to eat or you can not survive. Unquestionably the better food you eat, the healthier you will be. If you're like me you are fortunate enough to be able to get yourself to the grocery store and get enough veggies to keep yourself in good shape.

For many people, easy access to healthy food is not an option. In many urban areas people live in what is referred to as a "food desert" where there is little to no access to grocery stores. One non-profit has noticed the trend, and is working to empower community leaders to fix the solution in some of the most ingenious ways possible: permaculture, hydroponics and [lightbox title="Title" href="http://youngagropreneur.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/aquaponic31.png"]urban aquaponics farming[/lightbox]. The Grow Haus (located in Northern Denver) is leading the charge to put healthy food back in the communities that need it most.
