If you've ever wanted a no-holds-barred, down and dirty, yet refreshing view of the budget crisis - count on ICOSA and Driving Force Radio to bring it to you! We had the great pleasure of visiting with Senator Alan Simpson at the South Metro Denver Chamber this week. Senator Simpson was appointed as co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform with Senator Erskine Bowles of South Carolina - together they endeavored on no small task. Fortunately, Senator Simpson keeps a wonderful sense of humor, not to be outdone by his spirit of common sense. Both of which are critical in what seems a no-win situation seeking that which can be cut from the national budget.
I can't do justice to any of Senator Simpson's observations - other than to urge you to listen to what he has to say about government waste and possible solutions. You won't regret it. He's delightfully wry and curmudgeon-y. There's no doubt you'll learn something, and possibly take a new position on at least one budget item.
Listen to Driving Force Radio Saturday Morning at 10:00 on KNUS 710 - Senator Simpson is featured in the second half-hour of the program.
