Again this year, Colorado paid tribute to the brave men and women with thousands gathering in Denver’s Civic Center Park. The lunchtime function paid tribute not only to the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11, but to the brave and heroic first responders in the wake of the recent Colorado wildfires, as well as the Aurora movie theatre massacre. Governor John Hickenlooper, Denver Mayor Hancock, Aurora Mayor Hogan, John Elway and Hazel Miller spoke and/or performed during the moving yet appreciative event that was hosted by The Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (The CELL). The CELL is dedicated to preventing terrorism through education, empowerment, and engagement ultimately enhancing public safety.
Again this year, CAP Logistics was proud to carry the World Trade Center artifacts from their secure location to the park for the remembrance. New York Fire Truck Rescue 4 was also brought in for the event. It is the single rescue truck from 9/11 that remains, yet all of its firefighters lost their lives.
