Colorado auto dealers will have to sell vehicles that meet more stringent emission standards beginning in 2022, thanks to a unanimous decision made Friday by the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission. After months of debate and discussion about clean air and the role of unelected government boards, the decision was resounding in its final form. Colorado will join 12 states and the District of Columbia in adopting California's rules for low-emissions vehicles, making the new cards sold in this state have to meet a high standard than the federal government requires and putting the state in place to reduce carbon-dioxide emission significantly in the next decade.

In an interview at the Yahoo Finance All Markets Summit, Business Roundtable President & CEO Joshua Bolten lauded the positive economic effects of tax reform while cautioning against the Administration's trade policy and its reliance on unilateral tariffs. "On the corporate side, it was about making it possible for companies to do business in the United States on a competitive basis, and it is having that effect," he said. Bolten criticized the Administration's reliance on tariffs, particularly when dealing with China. "Companies are now very broadly in agreement that China has not behaved responsibly in the international trading environment," he said. "The specific mistake was imposing very broad-based, large tariffs as the opening gambit." Bolten also called for entitlement reform to counteract rising federal debt. See excerpts, Yahoo News coverage and video on tariffs and China.
