CH2M, the largest privately-held company in Colorado, is in "advanced talks" to be sold to a Texas-based rival, according to a news report. The deal would combine two global engineering and construction giants. Douglas County-base CH2M, largely owned by employees, played a lead role in the recent expansion of the Panama Canal.

U.S. Bank has purchased a pair of buildings for $17.8 million in the Inverness Business Park near Centennial Airport and plans to hire 300 employees in the coming months.
The Minneapolis-based bank will transform the former Arrow Electronics headquarters in Arapahoe County into its new regional banking campus, with expanded retail payment services, mortgage operations and corporate card services.

In a bipartisan move, two senators announced Thursday their intention to grant legal status to a group of undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, commonly referred to as
"DREAMers."
Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Dick Durbin, D-Ill., introduced the legislation which would allow certain young immigrants the chance to earn permanent residency in the U.S. and be provided with a pathway toward citizenship.

People can now register for the annual Denver Startup Week, an event that brings together CEOs, entrepreneurs and innovators covering everything from how technology can combat opioid abuse to its role in manufacturing.
The five-day event, now in its sixth year will take place Sept. 25-29 and include 300 free community events across six different programming tracks - founder, growth, maker, product, designer and developer.

This year alone, more than 8,600 stores could close, according to industry estimates, many of them the brand-name anchor outlets that real estate developers once stumbled over themselves to court. Already there have been 5,300 retail closings this year, including Sears, Macy's, JCPenny and Kmart stores.
